Writing endeavors

In my attempts to become an actual published author, I thought it might be cool to start posting some of the stuff I write as I write it - so that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I write quite a bit, so you’ll definitely see some stuff being posted regularly.

In the meantime, though, I thought I’d post something that I never continued to write. Hey, practice makes perfect, and I just wasn’t feeling this story; though you might find it mildly interesting.

————————————————————————————

Thick shadows tail off the empty classroom desks as evening breaks.  Sunlight cracks through the dusted windows - eerie moans float in with the wind, and flaming red paint peels off the surface of age-old drywall. The deep blue sky begins to fade as clouds roll through the atmosphere. A once industrial neighborhood resonates with emptiness. Everything is in ruins.

Rain begins to fall. The cool autumn air whips across the town. Historical architecture crumbles under its’ own weight - and as if being washed away by the rain, it disappears in the ruble.

A young boy watches the sky, his tears blending with the rain on his face. Screams of terror fill his mind - memories of a distant past bleeding through the concrete and devastation. Lighting shakes the earth as the boy rises. His shadow becomes a deep black, twisting around him; the hatred in his heart commanding the darkness as he regains his posture. The wind picks up, his silvery eyes glimmering with rage as another flash strikes the earth.

This is the end of the line.

————————————————————————————

I had even written more, but I’m not particularly fond of it. I was experimenting with a different kind of POV, and this what I think turned out the best. If you want to read the rest that badly (haha) then you can message me for the link.

I feel different :c

Sometimes I wonder why people do the things they do, and act the way they do. I feel like a lot of the time, I give my opinion on something and I get shot down because I’m different than most kids - my opinion doesn’t apply because I think differently? Just saying. :P

I think fighting - serious fighting is really stupid. How much can you learn from getting punched in the face? We should be able to solve our problems without violence - violence solves nothing. It only creates more anger and more violence. None of us are perfect, and while it may be hard now to forgive someone for something they’ve done, (especially if you’re a Christian) you should probably try to. Even if you’ll never be friends, holding a grudge can be a one-sided, painful experience.

Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system, there’s something I need to work on: My confidence c:. I’m much too self-conscious :\

things I don’t know how to exaggerate into a full-length post:

  • To my best bro: Before I told you that we were okay, I meant that - but I can’t help feeling upset and sad over what you did. It’s not your fault, and I don’t expect you to feel sorry (because I know you’re not going to). I just need some space for a little while. Sorry if I’ve been a jerk the past couple of days, I didn’t want you thinking that I was seriously mad at you.
  • The Trayvon Martin stuff is being blown way out of proportion - things like this happen all of the time and they don’t get anywhere NEAR the amount of attention that this case is getting. JUST SAYIN’.
  • I received 50 Kony 2012 posters in the mail today. I’m going to copy and print more out for the April 20th event since I won’t have time to order and receive more before it all goes down.
  • I’ll be getting a phone for my birthday (hopefully). The phone I want is the Nokia Lumia 900; google it, it looks really cool. Best Windows phone I’ve seen on the market.

Yeah, so that’s that. I hope I’ve at least mildly entertained you for a minute or two :3

movement from blogspot to tumblr.

I’ve always really loved tumblr as it’s own thing, but I could never really appreciate it as a blogging service, because most people take away from legit content and thoughts by reblogging pictures and videos constantly. I love how tumblr works, but I want a blog that is content-only; completely my thoughts. So I’ve decided I’m coming here under the condition that I do no reblogging, because this is the best way for my friends to actively see what I’m saying.

My older posts are at http://tiny.cc/szebr. Check it out if you have time :3

Ohio is flat.

This is my first official blog post, I guess I can do the world a favor and introduce myself. Here’s a quick run-down; My name is Brendan Szewczyk. I love Jesus. I love the computer. I have lots of friends and I like to consider myself a radical thinker. BUT ENOUGH OF ME. MORE OF *MY* WEEKEND.
